Purpose of the Workshop:

Purpose of the Workshop is to create awareness, Legal sensitization and provide Skills to Professionals towards various Hazards and Risks involved and Educate them to take preventive steps to eliminate/reduce them. It also seeks to facilitate capacity building and develop mechanisms to support Govt. machineries in Planning, Prevention and Preparedness processes during Emergencies, if any

BACKGROUND FOR Workshop & COMPETENCY DEVELOPMENT

Alarming number of death tool figures has made Human Life Safety a very crucial issue for society. Man -Made Disasters and Safety failures like Fire Incidences, School Hospital Incidences, Chemical Biological / Nuclear Emergencies, Industrial disasters, Terrorist Attacks Bomb Blasts are key threats for the community and we are totally depend son the unprepared Machinery.

Supreme Court of India Remark No task is as important as creating Safe Environment for our Population/Employees. Recent events of deaths due to threats like building/Structure Collapse, Fire Accidents, Industrial Disasters, Chemical/Toxic Releases, Terrorist Attacks, Road Accidents and stampede bring to light the need to be continually vigilant to ensure for safety. Manmade disasters are attributable to conditions resulting from human conduct such as grossly negligent acts, gross inaction or serious errors. These are broadly:(1) Fire outbreaks especialy in places to which the public has access including high-rise buildings, (ii) building collapses, (iii) stampedes in public places and (iv) industrial disasters viz., explosions, escape of noxious fumes and gases, mishaps in underground mines, etc., and (v) Terrorist attacks & Serial Bomb Blast, exposure to radio-active waste. Road, Rail, Boat, Air Accidents and Disaster caused by sabotage and mob violence.

Keeping the above in view, a One day Workshop is being organized by RCCI in Technical Collaboration with FIHS with following Objectives:

  • -Various Policy, Law & Regulations -Role of Authorities & Organization
  • -Safety Mgt System in Industries/Corporate & establishments,
  • -Fire risk & Losses
  • -Disaster & Emergency Preparedness Mechanism
